philosophy >

Life is short. Live simply—a table, a few chairs, a bed—the essentials. And make sure you love them, want to take care of them, and that you love to tell others about where it came from; why you decided it was right for you.

Our furniture and cabinetry aim to evoke warmth, create comfort in your home, and give you some peace. When the morning sun hits the swirling grain of the wood in one of our pieces in just the right way, you’ll see a different angle, a shape, a curve you hadn’t noticed before. It’s old world craftsmanship in modern times, using only the finest joinery, built to last for generations.

In addition to walnut, cherry, and maple—woods well-known to fine woodworking—we have experience with non-traditional species, like mesquite, elm, pacific coast maple, eucalyptus and sycamore. We search out reclaimed lumber, backyard trees, and lesser known hardwoods, many of which are fast-growing and have positive ecological benefits.

Thank you for your interest.

staff >
Our staff are all legit and on the payroll employees, and they rock! As required of a licensed contractor (cabinetry and millwork), we carry the requisite liability insurance and workers compensation policies. State licensing protects you, the consumer. If we need extra help, we hire on the basis of recommendations from colleagues in the field. We don't use day labor.
